Tweetsie Railroad has had to close again, shortly after re-opening for the first time this season.

Tweetsie's website indicates the park received notification from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services that it is are not permitted to run the train.

As a result, the park has closed and upcoming special events have been canceled, including K-9s in Flight, Railroad Heritage Weekend, and Ghost Train.

Tweetise had opened on a limited basis the weekend of July 17, by reservation only and with limited access.

According to the post, when parks like Tweetsie are cleared to open in North Carolina, Tweetsie officials will reevaluate, with hopes of hosting the Tweetsie Christmas celebration.
