The National Forest Service has announced additional closures in the Pisgah National Forest until August 13.

Linville Falls, Table Rock Summit, and the Mountains to Sea Trail are among those new closures. According to the National Forest Service, the closure could be rescinded before that date.

Other closures include Little Table Rock, Table Rock Gap, Hawksbill Linville Falls Access in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area, Upper Creek and others.

Trailheads and campgrounds near these areas are also closed.

The announcement comes on the heels of additional closures of most of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Blowing Rock south. There have been other Parkway closures in Virginia, and the southern most section of the Parkway to Cherokee closed in March.

Despite the newly announced closures, the Forest Service says more than 200 miles of roads and 700 miles of trails remain open.
