Ashe Memorial Hospital has been recognized with a 2019 Performance Leadership Award for overall excellence in patient outcomes.
AsheCountyLine.com reports the award was presented by the Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health.
The Performance Leadership Award reflects the top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the country in Quality, Outcomes or Patient Perspective, based on the results of the Hospital Strength Index from IVantage Health Analytics, the most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance in the industry.
Ashe Memorial is a unique Critical Access Hospital functioning as a 25 bed inpatient facility and a 12 bed emergency department, with 24/7 access, orthopedics, oncology and chemotherapy, a rural health clinic and employed physician practices.
Ashe Memorial is also involved in community events throughout the year and functions as a food pantry in partnership with Ashe Sharing Center for their patients.
