North Carolina State Board of Elections has added Caldwell Community College and Lees-McRae College to the list of approved student and employee photo indentification for use in the 2020 election.

The Watauga Democrat reports the two schools IDs are among more than 80 student, employee and tribal IDs approved for use in North Carolina elections.

Appalachian State University student and employee IDs were approved last March.

Town of Boone employee IDs were also approved November 1st.

Beginning in 2020 voters will be asked to present photo ID for voting. Voters who do not have an acceptable ID can get one for free at their local county board of elections.

North Carolinians will soon receive information in the mail about the new voter ID requirements.
