Early voting schedules and locations for the 2019 municipal election have been approved by the Watauga Board of Elections.

The Watauga Democrat reports that the board's meeting July 23rd saw approval of a plan that utilizes the Watauga County Administration Building and the Plemmons Student Union at Appalachian State as early voting locations.

Early voting at the Administration Building will be available Oct. 16-18, 21-25 and Oct. 28 through Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Early voting at the Plemmons Student Union will be available October 21-25 and Oct. 28 through Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The plan was presented by board chair Jane Ann Hodges and unanimously approved.

According to the report, a new law passed in June gave more flexibility to county election boards but is only for this fall's election.

Previous early voting requirements will likely be in place again for primary elections this coming spring.
