Avery County Schools will be back in session for the new school year on Wednesday, August 7th and there will be some new adjustments for Avery High School students and parents.

The Avery Journal reports that with construction at the high school underway, there will be a new, one-way bus drop off by the cafeteria as well as other parking changes, due to the fact that the school's parking lot is a construction zone.

According to the report, the Avery Middle School across the street will dismiss each day five minutes early to help with traffic flow in the area.

The $20 million dollar renovation project will continue throughout the school year and other than the parking and busses, will not overly impact the regular operation of the school day.
