The Boone Tourism Development Authority unanimously passed its 2019/2020 budget of a little over $1.5 million dollars at their meeting last Wednesday.

High Country Press reports that the new budget total of $1,565,958 is $35,558 more than the 2018/2019 budget.

The budget is projected to go towards marketing and advertising, contract fees to the Watauga County Tourism Development Authority, legacy event sponsorships, sports tourism, public relations services and professional services.
