AppalCART is planning to expand its headquarters.
The Watauga Democrat reports the expansion would be three acres with the main purpose to add more visitor parking.
According to the report, the land is located at the intersection of the 105 Bypass and 421 North and is worth about $273,000. The land appraisal will cost $1,200 and was approved by the AppalCART board.
AppalCART also released its proposed budget for the fiscal year 2019-2020. The business is planning for about $4.6 million in revenue, which is up nearly 8 percent from last year. The additional funding would cover a 25-cent cost of living raise, an extra dispatcher, two extra full-time drivers and fuel for new routes.
