A man from West Jefferson was arrested in a kidnapping case on April 16th.
The Ashe Post and Times reports 43-year-old Mark Hoosier is being charged with second degree kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
According to the report, Hoosier allegedly held the victim against their will. He’s accused of stabbing a table on both sides of the victim with a kitchen knife, discharging a shotgun three times near the victim and striking the victim with a closed fist.
Hoosier is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $500, $1,500 and $50,000 secured bond.
