The Boone Town Council held a public meeting on Tuesday to discuss the proposed Highway 105 Improvement Project.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation was on hand to share maps, answer questions and get public input. The majority spoke in favor of the plan.
The $10.5 million project would limit left turns on 105 with a median, among several other changes. Construction would take three to four years to complete.
The Watauga County Board of Commissioners voted in favor of the plan in March. The Boone Town Council still needs to give final approval.
The council plans to put the item on its agenda for its May 7th meeting.
