The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership awarded 19 grants worth nearly $200,000 to support community projects across Western North Carolina.

The Mountain Times reports that in the High Country, the Appalachian Theatre received over $6,500 for its historical mural, Beech Mountain Tourism Development received over $3,600 to revitalize and promote Barn Quilt Trails in Avery and Watauga counties, Blowing Rock Art and History Museum received $9,400 for an exhibition and programming showcasing North Carolina textile and fiber artists, Cove Creek Preservation and Development received $10,000 for a plan to enhance the Doc Watson Museum at the Historic Cove Creek School in Sugar Grove and the Todd Community Preservation Organization received $7,000 for music venue improvements at Cook Memorial Park in Ashe County.
