West Jefferson Fire and Police Departments responded to a structure fire in West Jefferson last Thursday.

The Ashe Post and Times reports the fire was at a home at 304 West Third Street and was called in after smoke was seen blowing out of the residence.

According to the report, officials were on the scene for about an hour and a half.

The homeowner did not suffer any major injuries, but was treated for smoke inhalation, and was cleared to be released at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
