The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from Winston-Salem that ended in a foot chase on January 4th.

The Ashe Post and Times reports the suspect, 48-year-old Junior J. Cobbler from Winston-Salem, was pulled over in Warrensville for questioning.

According to the report, when Cobbler was asked about the stolen vehicle he ran from the scene. After a brief foot chase, Cobbler was arrested and placed in the Ashe County Detention Center under a $14,000 secured bond.

Police also found drug paraphernalia and more stolen items in the car, leading to charges of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After further investigation, detectives also found keys from four other stolen vehicles from Winston-Salem and two license plates from a dealership.

All the stolen vehicles and property was recovered, and Cobbler is now facing additional charges from the Winston-Salem Police Department.
