Blue Ridge Conservancy has acquired 80 more acres on Three Top Mountain in Ashe County.

The Ashe Post and Times reports the land was purchased from four private owners for $300,000.

According to the report, the land is located on Three Top Mountain’s southeastern slope, adjacent to the 135-acre plot that the Blue Ridge Conservancy purchased last July.

There is also an 872-square foot building on the property, but Blue Ridge Conservancy has not yet laid out any plans for the building, or for public access to the area.

The main objective right now is to keep protecting land with ecological significance.
