Two people were injured in a single car crash in Todd on Monday.

The Watauga Democrat reports the driver, 68-year-old William Claude Reece from Boone, ran into a tree on Meat Camp Road.

According to the report, Reece ran off the right side of the road and into the tree when he looked over at his passenger, Tiffany Amanda Auton, a 40-year-old from West Jefferson.

Reece was taken to Watauga Medical Center with a broken leg, broken wrist and other minor injuries.

Auton was flown to Johnson City Medical Center for head trauma.

The car was totaled.

Reece was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain lane control, no insurance and not having a proper vehicle tag.
