Boone Police have charged two people in relation to a reported armed robbery.

A release from Boone Police says that last Thursday May 17th, a victim reported an armed robbery in the parking lot of 2575 Highway 105, the Highland Commons Shopping center.

The victim reported a black male and a white female that he was acquainted with had accosted him with a knife and taken his wallet, then fled in a gold colored Buick sedan.

Then on Sunday May 20th, an off duty Boone Police officer observed the suspects in the gold Buick at a business on Blowing Rock Road. A Boone Police officer attempted to stop the vehicle on Pride Drive but the driver refused to stop and fled across Boone Heights Drive onto State Farm Road. After a  brief chase, the vehicle struck a residence on Laurel Drive.

The female passenger was taken into custody after a short foot chase. The male driver escaped into the woods but Boone officers, assisted by a Watauga Sheriff’s K9, located the man in a nearby culvert and he was taken into custody.

Ashley Lynn Price, 34 years-of-age, of Ellen Hass Lane, Hudson, NC, was charged with Felonious Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon; Misdemeanor Assault and Battery; Misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property. Price was given an $85,000 secured bond and a court date of June 15th.

Marlon Tyrick Horton, 39 years-of-age, of Brook Hollow Road, Boone, was charged with Felonious Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon; Felonious Fleeing to Elude Arrest; and a number of misdemeanor charges including assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery, reckless driving, and others. Horton was given a $100,000 and also has a June 15th court date.
