There were no injuries in a fire Tuesday morning in the Powder Horn Mountain community.

The Watauga Democrat reports the fire was called in by a neighbor around 9:15 Tuesday morning, and when crews arrived the structure was fully involved.

According to the report, Jay Kerley, Watauga County Assistant Fire Marshal, said the vacant home was a total loss.

The report indicates the investigation is still underway, could take some time as the roof and the first floor of the home collapsed into the basement.

Stewart Simmons, Deep Gap Fire, Ferguson Fire, Boone Fire, the Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office, Watauga Medics and Watauga Rescue all responded to the call.
