An Appalachian State men's tennis player has been suspended from the team indefinitely after allegations of racially charged comments.

The Winston Salem Journal reports the comments came after Sunday's match with North Carolina A&T.

According to the report, a press release indicated the student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from the team for violating the student-athlete discipline policy.

The report indicates N.C. A&T tennis player John Wilson tweeted on Sunday that during his match with App State's Spencer Brown, Brown made racist comments.

According to the report, the press release indicates the school has reached out to N.C.A&T to apologize on behalf of Appalachian Athletics and the university.
