Doc Watson visits Cove Creek PDF Print

Cove Creek had a couple guitar-wielding visitors today- flat picking virtuoso Doc Watson among them.

Musicians like the Kruger Brothers gathered to celebrate the upcoming Music Fest in Sugar Grove.

Before picking up his own guitar, Watson shared what, to him, makes his career worthwhile.

A man from Alaska wrote Watson a letter saying he was "about to end it all" when he heard Watson's "What a friend we have in Jesus" on the radio. Instead of ending it- the man was saved. That is worth more than all the money and fame, Watson said.  The Music Fest is Friday and Saturday and benefits Cove Creek Preservation and Development. Stay tuned this week for continued coverage.
