For the seventh year in a row, Wilkes Playmakers presents Tom Dooley: A Wilkes County Legend. According to writer and director Karen Reynolds, it’s easy to see why crowds keep coming back.
The story was made popular by the ballad, she said- but that's not all.
After Dooley's hanging- people had a bad feeling about events, Reynolds said. Folks still wonder if the right person was hung for the crime.
According to Reynolds, Tom Dooley is different from other outdoor dramas because of its story.
It's a love story with a unique triangle.
It’s the last week- so come to Wilkes and see what it’s all about. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until next summer. The show is tonight through July 7 at 8:30 p.m. Reserve tickets by calling 336-838-7529.
