Two women were trapped in their vehicle after it ran off Perkinsville Drive just before noon. Arriving Boone Police and Fire found the vehicle off the road suspended against two trees, causing Boone Fire to have to secure the vehicle before reaching the women trapped inside for treatment by Watauga Medics and transport to Watauga Medical Center.  Boone Police report that Michelle Ann Combs, 41, of Meadow Hill Apartments, ran off of the road in a curve, struck first one tree after travelling 42-feet off of the road, then another 14 feet, where the 2008 Nissan struck the second and third tree, coming to rest suspended in the air. Boone Fire has to secure the precarious vehicle before extracting Michelle Ann Combs and her passenger—car owner Brenda Gae Harper, 51, also of Meadow Hill Apartments.  Boone Police cited Michelle Ann Combs with Failure to Reduce Speed, Failure to Maintain Lane Control, Left of Center, Too Fast for the wet road conditions, and Careless & Reckless Driving.  The car was probably totaled in the wreck.
