Boone Appears Poised to Name New Manager PDF Print

From the cryptic notices of the Town of Boone, it would appear that the Boone Town Council is ready to select the new town manager, and if all goes as scripted, that may come Wednesday or Thursday.  The town clerk issued two notices of special meeting this week; One for Wednesday, including a closed session “to consider qualifications and conditions of initial employment of a prospective employee.”  That meeting is at 2:15 Wednesday afternoon, to be followed by a specially called 1pm meeting Thursday, with yet another closed session with the same descriptor.  Both leave open the possibility of action in an open session that would follow the closed sessions.  Long-time town manager Greg Young announced his retirement early in the year, and the council has been seeking a replacement for months.
