Search Launched for Missing Ashe Man PDF Print

Ashe County searchers were called out this morning to seek a missing man who walked away from his home sometime yesterday afternoon. Sheriff James Williams said that Eddie Adams texted his wife to say he was taking a walk—in spite of the rainy weather—and said that, due to the rain, he was leaving his phone behind.  By evening, when the 42-year old had not returned to his Big Piney Creek area home, that led to the call for volunteers from the Lansing, Creston, Warrensville, and New River fire departments along with the Ashe Rescue Squad to conduct a grid search, with fire departments asked to bring thermal imaging equipment.  Williams said that Adams’ wife said it was not unusual—even in the rain—to take such a walk.
