An Ashe County minister has been arrested and charged with sex counts that reportedly involved a person under his care. His wife had earlier been charged with embezzlement from the same person. The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday the arrest of Rev. Billy Howard Guy, better known as Bill Guy, on 6 sexual criminal charges.  Guy, 60, of Wiley F. Gambill Road in Crumpler, was arrested after a lengthy investigation by Captain Carolyn Gentry and Detective Jerry Lewis, according to the release.  That release says the investigation began in  July of 2013 and concerned a mentally challenged person placed in the care of Guy and his wife Dianne.  The release went on to say that in an earlier case, Guy’s wife, Dianne Guy, was arrested on multiple counts of embezzlement stemming from allegedly taking the victim’s social security funds.  Dianne Guy bonded and is awaiting trial. Now Billy Howard Guy has been charged with 1 count felony sexual offense; 1 count felony 2nd degree sexual offense, and 3 counts of sexual battery.  He was arrested Thursday, May 8th, and was released on a secured $40,000 bond by Magistrate Etyloe Yearick.  His first appearance will be Thursday, May 15.
