The Aho area of Watauga County shook again in the early morning hours Saturday, with the U.S. Geological Survey reporting a 2.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 1:57 a.m. The epicenter was approximately 2.3 miles east-northeast of downtown Blowing Rock, near the spot where another quake was reported August 25th, that one approximately 2.9 miles north-northeast of Blowing Rock. That quake registered 2.6 on the Richter Scale, according to the USGS. Residents reported dogs barking and a loud rumbling, some structures shaking, but no damage.
