Meth Arrest Follows Traffic Stop PDF Print

A week ago today, Narcotics Detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop that led to the seizure of Methamphetamine from the passenger, according to the department’s release. Derick Shane Canter, 20, was arrested for the drug possession, then Canter was found to have two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest. Derick Canter, of 277 North Woods Road, Boone, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Larceny of a Firearm, and Obtaining Property by False Pretense.  Canter was taken to the Watauga County Detention Facility and set a $20,000 secured bond.  He is scheduled to appear in District Court on May 14th.
