Three Avery fire departments have now cleared the scene of a house fire—a fully-involved structure fire discovered at about 4:50 this morning.  A neighbor spotted the flames from his West Crossnore Drive home, one of the first dispatched fire company members, also a neighbor to the home, reported the structure fully involved, causing Crossnore, Linville, Newland, the Avery ladder truck and equipment truck to be dispatched, along with Mountain Electric, as live power lines caused the attack on that part of the fire to be stopped for a time before the power was cut. Fire officials say the house was recently vacated.
