An older man survived a night—all night—out in the cold, found injured early this morning outside a Foscoe area home.  A runner found the man, initially unconscious and suffering some obvious injuries, outside a home on Townsend Trail and called for help.  Unsure of the circumstances, medics and first responders awaited arriving Watauga deputies who arrived at the 5:06am call in short order, discovering that the man was diabetic, and that he fell before dark yesterday—about 5pm—and spent 12 hours out in the cold, with temperatures dropping to and below freezing in the area.  The man, thought to be in his 70’s was rushed to Watauga Medical Center.
