A weekend domestic situation turned tragic just across the Tennessee line, with a woman and her 6-year old daughter dead, her live-in boyfriend shot. The incident began at about 10 Saturday night at a residence shared by Mark Johnson, Heather and Lexi Buchannan with Johnson County deputies responding to the McEwen Road home for the domestic disturbance in which shots were fired.  The first arriving deputy found himself under fire as the woman, later identified as Heather Buchannan fired at the deputy in a brief stand-off before fleeing the home with her daughter in tow. The two were seen heading into the woods as backup arrived, and an all night search was launched, ending around 8:30 Sunday morning when Bill Dunn arrived at his son’s McEwen Road home to find a woman and child dead on a well head near the front of his yard.  Both had been shot in the head. Sheriff Mike Reece said it appears that the deaths were a murder-suicide.
