Avery County Adds Charges To Boone Drug Case PDF Print

Three people arrested in Boone last week for selling drugs were charged this week with opium sales in Avery County. The Avery County Drug Task Force has charged Heidi Hayes and Charles Sailors of Boone and James Walker of North Wilkesboro with Opium trafficking.

They are alleged to have stolen a prescription pad from the Spruce Pine Hospital Emergency Room and with writing their own prescriptions. The Crossnore Drug and Foscoe Pharmacy became suspicious and alerted authorities. These charges follow last week’s arrest by Boone Police and Watauga County Drug Task Force on charges of selling hydrocodone, a schedule two controlled substance. Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frye asks anyone with information about illegal drug activity in the county to report it to 898-5313. You may remain anonymous.
