Blue Ridge Energy is on high alert and ready to respond should the winter storm predicted this weekend lead to power outages in the cooperative’s service area of Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Caldwell, and portions of Avery, Wilkes and Alexander counties.

Predictions are for heavy snowfall, especially in the mountain counties, and possible freezing rain or sleet mixed with snow in the foothills beginning early Sunday.

Blue Ridge Energy members are advised to be prepared with the cooperative’s outage reporting options.

You can call 800-448-2383, use the Blue Ridge Energy mobile app, or by text when signed up for outage texting.
