A Boone woman has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder.

The Watauga Democrat reports Anna Marie Choudhary, age 33, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2019 death of 38-year-old John Thomas McGuire, of Minnesota. Choudhary was arrested on Sept. 26 by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

Two accomplices in the murder were Chourdhary's father, Larry McGuire, and sister Amanda McClure, who later married each other.

According to the report, Choudhary along with her father and sister killed McGuire in McDowell, West Virginia.

Larry McGuire pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, and was sentenced to life without mercy last August. Amanda McClure pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and was sentenced last October to 40 years in prison.
