Last week the North Wilkesboro Police Department seized more than 220 pounds of methamphetamine in what is believed to be one of the largest seizures of meth ever in North Carolina.

The Wilkes Journal Patriot reports the meth had a street value of more than $2 million dollars, and seized as part of a joint investigation by the Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro Police Departments, the SBI and Homeland Security.

According to the report, the meth was found after North Wilkesboro Police traffic stop August 8. A subsequent search warrant resulted in 13 additional pounds of meth and several weapons found at a residence.

Juan Molina Sebastian, age 55, of 171 Flatplains Drive, North Wilkesboro, charged with two counts each of trafficking meth, conspiring to traffic meth, maintaining a residence/vehicle for selling meth and possession with intent to sell and deliver meth. Three other people were also arrested during the investigation.

According to the report, Boone Police as well as the Watauga and Ashe County Sheriff's Departments were among a number of agencies that assisted in the investigation.
