COVID-19 case totals continue to rise in the High Country.

According to App Healthcare as of Friday, June 26th, there were 49 total cases of COVID-19 in Watauga County, 15 of which were active. 48 total cases in Ashe County, 7 were active. And 31 total cases confirmed in Alleghany County of which 1 was active. There were 42 individuals being monitored in Watauga County for COVID-19 along with 16 in Ashe, and 3 in Alleghany.


The Toe River Health District reported Sunday that there were no new cases in Avery or Yancey Counties, but three new cases were confirmed in Mitchell County. The total number of cases confirmed in Mitchell County is now 34, 21 have recovered and 13 are active. Avery County remains at 11 total cases, 5 have recovered and 6 active. Yancey County has 42 total cases, 35 have recovered and 7 are active.
