The new state budget was unveiled Monday, with Watauga Projects included.

The budget includes increases in school spending including teacher pay raises, $241 million in lottery funds to build or upgrade schools, an increase in pay for North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers, and a reduction in state income tax, both personal and corporate.

The Watauga Democrat reports the budget also includes a onetime outlay of $100,000 for the Middle Fork Greenway, and a onetime allocation of $30,000 for renovations and improvements at the Western Watauga Community Center.
