“We are so excited to host wildlife medicine practitioners for an engaging weekend of continuing education and professional networking. Come connect with colleagues and experience the fall weather in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina!” —Dr. Sam Young and Dr. Miranda Torkelson
Lees-McRae College is a leader in wildlife education, enrolling hundreds of students in pre-veterinary medicine, wildlife biology, and wildlife rehabilitation programs. The college is one of the only in the country to house a fully operational wildlife rehabilitation center on campus. Under the supervision of veterinarians and licensed rehabilitators, students help treat more than 1,500 injured and orphaned wild animals each year. Wildlife symposium attendees will be able to tour the rehabilitation facilities and learn more about how Lees-McRae is preparing the next generation of wildlife medicine practitioners.
