Acclaimed author Caleb Johnson will visit Appalachian State University as part of the spring 2019 Visiting Writers Series.

Johnson is the author of the novel “Treeborne,” an honorable mention for the 2019 Southern Book Prize. His writing can also be found in publications like “Southern Living,” “The Paris Review Daily” and “The Bitter Southerner.”

Johnson will host a Craft Talk in the College of Education on Thursday, March 21st at 12:30 p.m. The subject of the talk is “Rewarding the Subconscious: Why Writers Should Carry a Notebook.”

Johnson will then host a reading in the Plemmons Student Union at 7:30 p.m.
