The sixth annual Watauga County Back to School Festival is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Watauga High School.

The Back to School Festival was created to lift the heavy financial burden that back-to-school shopping creates for local families.

Available at the festival is school supplies, new shoes and socks, backpacks, haircuts, fun activities, helpful information and healthy food in an atmosphere of fun, dignity and respect.

The Back to School Festival was founded on the belief that every child deserves to start the school year feeling confident and prepared.
