Three officials from Blue Ridge Energy were recently recognized for their years of commendable service to the electric cooperative at the annual meeting of North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives in Raleigh, NC.

Those honored for their service include Doug Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, who has served for 40 years, Caldwell Board Member David Eggers for 15 years of service, and Watauga Board Member J.B. Lawrence who has served for 15 years.

Tom Trexler recently earned the Director Gold credential from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association as part of his service on the Board of Directors for Blue Ridge Electric. In order to earn the credential, electric cooperative directors must complete a variety of courses on topics ranging from finance to technology and then commit to a continuing education requirement throughout their service on the co-op board.
