Have you ever wanted to try snowshoeing, or you like snowshoeing but do not have a pair? Well, this is your chance.  Join Ranger Sicard for a snowshoe hike that will begin at the Boone Fork Parking Lot (milepost 299.9 on the Blue Ridge Parkway).

The Caldwell Arts Council will present a two-month exhibit featuring “Caldwell Stories” drawings, paintings & stories of Caldwell County residents by Durham artist Debra Wuliger ( and “For the Love of Art” featuring colorful abstract art by Brevard NC artist C. Shana Greger ( and the late Philip Broyhill.

The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum has announced that it will be hosting Mini Matinees, a new family friendly music and theatre series, one Sunday a month, January through March. 

The week we now call “I Have a Dream Week” began 23 years ago, when a group of concerned residents in our community organized a silent protest of a Ku Klux Klan rally in Boone and Blowing Rock.  That group grew into the I Have a Dream Task Force.

The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its January Business After Hours on the 28th at the LaQuinta Inn.
