The 31st High Country Senior Games begins May 5.
Sponsored by Appalachian Brian Estates, Life Care Center of Banner Elk and Watauga County Parks and Recreation, the Senior games will run through June 15 with swimming, basketball and volleyball, tennis, pickle ball, bowling, corn hole and many other events, for both individuals and teams.
The Silver Arts events also return, including the High Country Talent Showcase.
The High Country Senior Games are open to those age 50 and older in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancy Counties.
