Appalachian State University’s New River Light and Power is encouraging new customers and customers transferring service this summer to use its online forms to schedule a connection and/or disconnection in advance.

Appalachian Today reports Chris Nault, public communications specialist for NRLP, said scheduling services online will save customers a trip to the office and “cut down on the long lines and crowds,” which will help keep customers and staff safe and healthy, and mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19.

Customers can fill out a Service Application Form or Disconnect Form, email a signed copy or a picture of a signed copy of the form along with a picture or copy of a photo ID, and this can be done anytime in advance of their move-in date.
