The High Country Association of Realtors is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.

The Avery Journal reports four scholarships are available to college-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic aspiration and community services, and one scholarship is available to a student attending each high school in Avery, Alleghany, Ashe and Watauga counties.

The top scholarship is for $3000, and the other three are for $1000 each.

The High Country Association of Realtors sponsor the scholarships to build young leaders of character, who live with high ethical standards and be committed to service in their personal, school, business and community lives.
