The High Country Energy Justice Summit will be held this Saturday February 22 from 11am-1:30pm.

The summit will bring together young people, local elected leaders and electric ratepayers from across the region to develop a community vision for local energy systems that support an equitable economy and protect our planet.

There will be feature updates from local youth-led groups affiliated with the Global Climate Strike movement. Live music will be provided by the Kraut Creek Ramblers.

Complimentary snacks, lunch and childcare will also be provided.

The summit is organized by Appalachian Voices, Sunrise Boone, Climate/Transition Blue Ridge, Climate Action Collaborative at Appalachian State University and Energy Justice NC Coalition.

The event is free and will be held at Harvest House of Boone, 247 Boone Heights Drive, and you should RSVP online if you'd like to attend.
