The Watauga High Pioneer Playmakers recently won their third state championship at the North Carolina Theatre Conference Play Festival, and made history by winning Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Play.

The Playmakers will be competing in the Southeastern Theatre Conference February 26 through March 1, not only performing, but attending professional workshops, auditioning for major collegiate training programs and work with national championship-level actors and directors. It's both an academic and artistic opportunity for them.

To help cover the cost and expenses with the trip to the conference in Louisville Kentucky, there will be a concert of The Folk Legacy Trio, at Watauga High School's William Ross Auditorium on Sunday February 2 at 2 pm.

The Folk Legacy Trio features George Grove and Rick Dougherty of the Kingston Trio.

Tickets are $25 dollars and you can get them at the door as well as online at WataugaTheatre.Ludus.com.

There is also a GoFundMe site to help raise money for the trip. You can learn more by contacting Director Sarah Miller by email - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
