The Town of Seven Devils is 40 years old, and will be celebrating its anniversary on Friday.

According to the Avery Journal, the town of Seven Devils was incorporated on June 30, 1979 and at the time there were 47 residents.

Forty years later there are just over 200 residents in one of the area's smallest communities.

In addition to the anniversary, the town will also hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Seven Devils Town Hall — located at 157 Seven Devils Road — at 10 am, a BBQ lunch at the current Town Hall at 1356 Seven Devils Road from 11:30 am to 1 pm.

There will be 40th anniversary swag bags given to the first 250 attendees.

The anniversary celebration will also include Music by the Lake starting at 4 pm at the Seven Devils Resort Club located at 870 Devils Lake Drive, featuring Dixie Dawn at 4 and the Kruger Brothers begin at 6.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy.

The event will take place rain or shine.
