The Children’s Council of Watauga County announced the application period for this year’s Watauga County Pre-Kindergarten Program will open on March 5th.

The Pre-K Program is designed to provide children high-quality educational experiences to enhance school readiness. The Children’s Council collaborates with Watauga County Schools and Appalachian State University to provide high-quality classrooms.

To be eligible, a child must be 4 years old on or before August 31st, and from a family whose gross income is at or below 75 percent of the State Median Income.

Applications will be available at Blue Ridge Pediatrics, Watauga County Schools’ Gragg Education Center and at the Children’s Council office.

They will also be available to download online at thechildrenscouncil.org.
