The Children’s Council is excited to be celebrating the Week of the Young Child this year on April 15th-21st. This annual celebration revolves around celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families.

NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child™ in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life.

The Week of the Young Child™ is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.

This year you can join us in celebrating all week! Here is what we have planned for our community:

Sunday April 15th- Dine Out for Kids
Please make plans to eat out at these restaurants on Sunday, April 15th as they have all agreed to donate at least 10% of their proceeds to The Children’s Council: Melanie's, Dan’l Boone Inn, The Peddler, Boone Bagelry, Town Tavern, Lost Province, Makoto's, The TApp Room, Coyote Kitchen, The New Public House, Gaijin Noodle Bar, Proper, Sunrise Grill, The Cardinal, Casa Rustica, Red Onion, Vidalia, Waterwheel
