Free Art Classes for Senior Citizens: The Lois E. Harrill has partnered with the Turchin Center to provide free intergenerational art classes. Senior citizens and children 5th-8th grade will work together create art through the instruction provided by the Turchin Center. Spaces are limited and you must be pre-registered to attend. Free Tax Help: The Lois E. Harrill is proud to host the AARP tax assistance program again this year. We are currently making appointments, so please call 828-265-8090 to make your appointment today, space is limited and will fill quickly.

New Needlework class: A new needlework class is beginning in February at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center. We invite you to join us for this and many other classes. Free Fun Events for Seniors: The Lois E. Harrill Senior Center would like to invite everyone 60 and older to join us for some fun, free events. Feb. 7th, 10 am until noon we will celebrate Send A Friend Card day. We will be making message envelopes and sending cards to friends as well as enjoying cookies and coffee. Feb 14th, 10-noon we will host a Valentine’s Day dance and party. We will have food and fun and will be crowning a king and queen of the senior center. Free Alzheimer’s Caregiver Training: The Lois E. Harrill Senior Center is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to bring an educational experience for caregivers, both professional and non-professional. The training class will help caregivers understand dementia related behaviors and will be free of charge. It will be held at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center on Wednesday, February 28th, from 2:30-3:30. For more information, please call Billie at 828-265-8090, registration is not required.
