Join Will and Ann Schmid for a Singalong Master Class on Saturday, May 10, and rediscover the importance of singing in our lives, communities, schools and churches. As president of NAfME (MENC, '94-96), Will created the original "Get America Singing . . . Again!" campaign which involved Pete Seeger as national honorary chair. Author of numerous publications for guitar, choir, general music and world drumming, Will has championed active music making throughout his life. His wife, Ann, was founder/director of the nationally known Stringalong Weekends (amateur folk music retreats) for 30 years. Will and Ann have given workshops and performed widely in the U.S. and beyond.

We'll have fun singing lots of great new and old songs with glorious harmonies that will refresh your soul. Topics included will be:

Where/When should singing happen?
How do you encourage reluctant singers?
What songs should we choose and where do we pitch them?
Should we use oral tradition / lyrics / written music?
How do you teach harmony?
How do you nourish your own singing / song-leading personal life?
There will also be some sharing of stories from the late Pete Seeger, a mentor and friend of the Schmids.
